Simple Exercise

Think about something you have often thought, “I wish I could do that.” 

What kind of a picture do you have?

Where are you seeing it?

Is it near or far?

Is it larger than life, or smaller? 

Is it clear or fuzzy?

Is it in colour or black and white?

Now, think about something that you want to do and you are much more likely to achieve. E.g. Eat a meal in the next 24 hours.

Where are you seeing this picture?  

Is it near or far?

Is it larger than life, or smaller? 

Is it clear or fuzzy?

Is it in colour or black and white? 

Now, make the first picture exactly like the second!

How has the meaning changed for you?   Is the ‘wished for’ experience more compelling than it was?
