What is NLP?

NEURO-LINGUISTIC What?

NLP, or Neuro-Liguistic Programming, or New Life Possibilities, is the opening you have been waiting for to help you change your life and your professional opportunities to a totally new dimension.

Since I was introduced to NLP 10 to 17 years ago my life has been transformed socially, professionally and in every relationship that is important to me.

ROOTS
NLP was the brainchild of John Grinder and Richard Bandler who studied the extraordinary success of three world famous therapists and discovered that, although each worked in a different field and used quite different methods, each had patterns in their ways of achieving success that could be modelled and taught to others.

There is nothing new in NLP as it is a comprehensive selection of things that work well. The predominating attitude of NLP is one of curiosity and experimentation.

The methodology is modelling, which is the process of duplicating excellent behaviour. To model a person's behaviour you must study what that person does inside and outside (physiology, language, filters, programs, etc.) to produce results and duplicate it.

Some of the first people to be studied included Hypnotherapist Milton Erickson, creator of gestalt therapy, Fritz Perls, and family therapist Virginia Satir.

Since then, many others have contributed to the growth and development of the field. The resultant techniques created through this modelling is what is commonly known as NLP, but NLP is so much more.

NLP TODAY
Today, NLP is widely used in sales and achievement/performance, business to improve management, in education to better understand learning styles and learning states, develop rapport with students and parents and to aid in motivation; and of course, NLP is a wonderful set of tools for personal development.

The counselling and coaching professions have been transformed in recent years by practitioners adopting NLP presuppositions and using the tools made available.

WHAT IT CAN DO FOR YOU
NLP techniques and processes help us to understand ourselves and others, and to produce new, and more effective ways to:

  • Attract the right people for you

  • Make relationships work more effectively

  • Accelerate your career advancement

  • Increase motivation and energy

  • Create your desired self-image

  • Communicate to produce the kind of results you want and help you achieve the income you dream about.

NLP is a set of guiding principles, attitudes, and techniques about real-life behaviour. Using the presuppositions of NLP, you learn how to grow from every single life experience.

You are able to create a better quality of life. When you become familiar with the principles of NLP you are able to remain focused on your desired outcomes, learn to see more clearly the results you are getting and be flexible enough to do something different if the feedback is not to your liking.

WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT NLP:
"NLP cannot be dismissed as just another hustle. Its theoretical underpinnings represent an ambitious attempt to codify and synthesise the insights of linguistics, body language, and the study of communication systems." -- Psychology Today "

(NLP) does offer the potential for making changes without the usual agony that accompanies these phenomena. . . Thus it affords the opportunity to gain flexibility, creativity, and greater freedom of action than most of us now know. . ." -- Training and Development Journal "

"NLP has provided me with so many choices and enabled me to create numerous choices for others: I now believe human beings really can be masters of their own destiny." "Management Today"

A WORD FROM RICHARD BANDLER
Time is as bountiful and as wide as your unconscious is long, so Live and Learn unconsciously NOW!

And a word from Mina

The only way to win is not to play the game!

Do you have a critical inner voice?  Of course you do .We all have. Is it constantly putting you down?  This is when you have to NOT play the put down game.  You can silence that ‘putterdowner’.  Next time it speaks up, learn to say ‘no’ with conviction.  It will try again another time but the more you put it back in its place firmly, the more it will accept you as the boss.
